What is a Breast Reduction?
Breast reduction surgery is a safe and effective method of removing extra glandular tissue, fat, and skin from your breasts. The goal of this procedure is to achieve a bust size that is proportionate to the rest of your body. Dr. Barry wants to ensure your complete comfort and satisfaction with your breast size.
Qualifying for the Surgery
The typical breast reduction patient typically suffers from back and shoulder pain. If you feel physically limited due to your breast size, you may be well-qualified for breast reduction surgery.
Many women are interested in knowing if breast reduction surgery is covered by insurance. Typically, the breasts need to be certain size in relation to the woman's height and weight. There needs to be documented proof from another physician that efforts have been made to eliminate some of the symptoms that can arise from large breasts such as treatment for shoulder pain. Patients need to be in reasonably good health. Smokers and obese patients are not good surgical candidates.
